Chirag School, nestled in the hills of Nainital, Uttarakhand, is looking for a passionate and experienced School Principal / School Leader to lead our school in alignment with its child-centric, non-competitive and community-oriented approach to education.

School Principal / School Leader — CHIRAG School

Organization: Central Himalayan Rural Action Group (CHIRAG)
Location: Village Simayal, Nainital, Uttarakhand
Joining: 1 November 2026
Remuneration: ₹50,000–₹65,000/month
Accommodation: Provided on campus

About the role:
CHIRAG School is seeking an experienced School Leader/Principal to lead the school in alignment with its child-centric, inclusive, rural and environmentally conscious educational philosophy.

Key responsibilities include:

School leadership, administration and compliance

School Improvement Planning and MIS management

Curriculum development and academic supervision

Teacher performance management and professional development

Student achievement monitoring

Budgeting, inventory, logistics and operations

School health & safety

Parent, community and stakeholder engagement

Government liaison and institutional networking

Fundraising and development of local, national and international networks

Mentoring administrative staff and promoting the school's values

Eligibility:

Minimum 3 years' experience as a Principal or in a school leadership role

Rural/alternative-school experience preferred

Strong networking experience preferred

Excellent English and Hindi communication skills

Master's degree, preferably in English

B.Ed. and/or Master's in Education

Strong understanding of CHIRAG School's vision and culture

Important: This is a senior school leadership position. A candidate without Principal/school-leadership experience and the required education qualifications (especially B.Ed./M.Ed.) would generally not be a strong match.
