How it works

DevelopmentWala connects people who want to work on India's social and development challenges with the organisations solving them. Here is what that looks like from both sides.

For candidates and professionals

Free to use, always. You keep control of your profile and choose what you apply to.

  1. 1

    Create your account

Sign up with your email address. It takes a minute and costs nothing — the platform is free for everyone looking for opportunities.

  2. 2

    Confirm your email

We email you a verification code. Enter it to activate your account. If it has not arrived within a couple of minutes, check your spam folder before requesting another.

  3. 3

Tell us what you care about

Choose the causes you want to work on, add your skills, experience and location. Not seeing your cause or skill listed? Type your own — the lists are open, not fixed.

  4. 4

    Find opportunities

Search and filter by cause, location, work mode, experience level and opportunity type — jobs, internships, fellowships, grants, scholarships, volunteering, events and more.

  5. 5

    Save and get alerted

Save anything you want to come back to, and set up alerts so new opportunities matching your interests reach you without you having to look.

  6. 6

    Apply and track

Apply with your profile and CV. Every application appears in your dashboard with its current stage, so you always know where things stand.

For organisations

NGOs, foundations, social enterprises, CSR teams, research institutions and government programmes use DevelopmentWala to reach candidates who want mission-driven work.

  1. 1

    Create your organisation

Sign up as an organisation and confirm your email. Then add your organisation's details, logo and the focus areas you work on.

  2. 2

    Get verified

Our team reviews every organisation before it goes live. This protects candidates from fraudulent listings and is why a verified profile is worth having. You can prepare listings while you wait, but publishing unlocks once you are approved.

  3. 3

    Post your opportunity

Publish a job, internship, fellowship, grant, RFP, scholarship, course, volunteering role or event. Add the cause areas and location so the right people find it.

  4. 4

    Review applicants

Applications arrive in one place with the candidate's profile and CV attached. Shortlist, message candidates and move them through your stages.

  5. 5

    Hire and keep in touch

Schedule interviews, keep notes against each applicant, and build a following of people who want to hear about your future opportunities.
