among underserved rural and tribal communities through community-based
healthcare, research, training and evidence-led interventions.

About the Role

The Program Manager – Tribal Health will lead the planning and implementation
of a comprehensive tribal health programme across 58 villages. The role combines
programme management, field operations, team leadership, community
mobilisation, research, financial management and stakeholder engagement.
The position requires a hands-on leader who can translate programme strategy into
effective field implementation while using data and community insights to
continuously strengthen programme quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Programme Planning & Operations: Develop annual plans, budgets and monthly operational plans and ensure effective implementation across programme activities.

• Field Programme Management: Supervise community-based healthcare activities, mobile medical services and other field interventions while maintaining quality standards.

• Monitoring & Data: Coordinate data collection, field records, surveys, MIS and analysis, and use findings to identify and implement corrective actions.

• Team Management: Support recruitment, personnel management, training, performance appraisal and professional development of programme staff and health workers.

• Community Mobilisation: Build engagement with Gram Sabhas, village leaders, youth and women's groups, Community Health Workers and other community stakeholders.

• Training: Identify training needs, develop and organise training programmes for health workers, medical staff, social workers and other programme personnel.

• Research: Support the design and implementation of public health research studies, including protocols, ethical approvals, data interpretation and dissemination of findings.

• Financial Management: Monitor programme budgets and expenditure and prepare internal and donor-facing progress reports.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with district health systems, government officials, community leaders, visitors, interns, students and other external stakeholders.

• Programme Development: Contribute to developing a replicable model of tribal healthcare and support advocacy around programme learnings and evidence.

Required Qualifications

Candidates with one of the following backgrounds may be considered:

• MD in Community Medicine with at least 1 year of team management experience

• PhD in Public Health with at least 1 year of team management experience
• MBBS + MPH with 3 years of team management experience
• BAMS + MPH/MHA with 2 years of operations or team management experience

• MBA with significant experience in health programme operations Required Skills & Competencies
