Its digital media work includes podcasts, interviews, educational content, short-form videos, newsletters, and social media.

The Global Development Desk is an upcoming podcast and conversation series featuring professionals working across development, social impact, policy, research, and philanthropy.

About the Role:

Edit and produce high-quality digital content for Development Wala's digital platforms.

Identify engaging moments from podcasts and interviews.

Suggest content ideas and contribute creatively to the content process.

Support content publishing and social media activities.

Work directly with the Founder and gain exposure to:

Content strategy

Podcast production

Social media

Outreach

Development sector ecosystem

Key Responsibilities:

Podcast Editing

Edit 1–2 podcast episodes per week.

Clean and edit audio.

Remove pauses, repetitions, dead space, and mistakes.

Add:

Intros and outros

Captions and subtitles

Graphics

Lower thirds

Colour correction

Transitions

Create platform-ready versions for YouTube and other platforms.

Maintain organised project files and digital assets.

Reels & Short-Form Content

Identify engaging moments from podcasts and interviews.

Create approximately 3–4 reels/short-form videos per week.

Edit talking-head, educational, and informational videos.

Add hooks, subtitles, text overlays, and motion graphics.

Improve video pacing and audience retention.

Repurpose long-form content into multiple vertical formats.

Social Media Content

Prepare videos, captions, hashtags, and thumbnails.

Schedule and publish content.

Maintain a simple content calendar.

Monitor content performance.

Suggest improvements based on performance.

Content Creation

Develop ideas for:

Educational videos

Sector explainers

Career content

Founder-led content

Behind-the-scenes content

Event content

Promotional content

Contribute ideas rather than only executing instructions.

Podcast & Founder's Office Support

• Support the wider podcast production workflow.
• Prepare episode clips, titles, descriptions, and thumbnails.
• Research potential guests and their public profiles.
• Prepare outreach lists and maintain a guest tracker.
• Research people, organisations, and social sector stories.
• Prepare background notes, presentations, and digital materials.
• Assist with online events, webinars, and team coordination.

Compensation & Commitment

Fixed Stipend: ₹7,000/month

Performance Incentive: Up to ₹5,000

Working Commitment: 2–3 hours/day

Performance incentive is based on quality, consistency, and initiative.

Consistent output and quality are prioritised over simply completing a high volume of work.
